History of Cornerstone Baptist Church

Cornerstone Baptist Church was founded in 1995 by five families worshiping in a local Wylie home. The church grew

from the desire for a local church that emphasized and celebrated the doctrines of the faith, and especially the

Biblical teaching that God’s sovereign Grace gets the credit for all our salvation and blessing. Grace is God’s favor,

through his Son Jesus Christ, towards his undeserving and rebellious people. It is the focus of our songs, our lives, and

our teaching.

In thirteen years, we have sent out or supported several foreign missionaries. Currently we have a missionary family

in Mexico and we support ministry in Hungary. God blessed us for many years in our first permanent home at

307 North First Street in downtown Wylie. We have now moved to our new building at 1399 Elm Drive (CR 381). We

pray that God will use this new presence in south Wylie, near both Sachse and Rowlett, to reach new families with

the good news of Christ.
