Camp War Eagle - Summer Camp

Scott and Kim Havens and their four children have been blessed with the unique opportunity for the past two summers to minister at Camp War Eagle in Northwest Arkansas. CWE is a Christian based non-profit camp that serves the underprivileged children in the five counties surrounding the Bentonville/Fayetteville area, giving them an opportunity to attend a premier summer camp at little or no cost. CWE ministered to roughly 3000 kids in 2006 its inaugural year, and 3500 kids in 2007.

Scott and Kim served as Top Staff ministering and training college students who directly impacted the lives of the children attending CWE. Brittney (18) has been involved in the Leaders in Training program at camp, doing much of the behind the scenes grunt work that makes the camp program run smoothly. Ticer (15), Zach (14) and Quinn (11) attended as campers and were vital assets to camp as leaders in their cabins.

Having a passion for children and a heart to minister in a camp setting, the Havens’ are currently involved with the Strong Defender Foundation. Established in 2006, SDF seeks to partner with other people, churches and foundations in an effort to construct and build a Christian based summer camp that would minister to the underserved children of Texas. Following construction, the operation of the camp will allow approximately 80% of campers to attend without cost.
